Ashley Ramsey

I earned my M.S. in Geology from the University of Tennessee where my thesis focused on studying metal concentrations and sulfur isotopic composition of coal ash impacted sediments in the vicinity of the 2008 Kingston Fossil Plant coal ash spill. Prior to attending the University of Tennessee, I received a B.S. in Geology from Baylor University where I completed an undergraduate thesis researching the radiocarbon reservoir effect of pre- and post-bomb terrestrial gastropods. During my time at Baylor University I also worked as a research assistant in the Geoluminescence Dating Research Laboratory.

Following completion of my M.S. degree I joined Geosyntec Consultants, Inc., a consulting and engineering firm, as a Senior Staff Geologist in Jacksonville, Florida. In winter 2020, I relocated to the Geosyntec headquarters in Kennesaw, Georgia to pursue additional professional opportunities and be closer to family. With Geosyntec I have served as project manager, task manager, and/or field lead on a variety of projects involving sediment, groundwater, and soil contaminant investigation and remediation across the southern and eastern United States. Additionally, I have been fortunate to play a key role in the development of Geosyntec’s Mentorship & Affinity Program (MAP) which facilitates employee growth through the development of enterprise wide mentoring relationships.

Outside of work I am an active member of the UT EPS Alumni Advisory Board, my local Zeta Tau Alpha Alumnae chapter, play tennis, and am part of a social kickball league.
