McKay Endowment Supports Graduate Students

A former hydrology professor and his wife marked his retirement with a new award for students.
To celebrate his retirement after more than 32 years of service to the University of Tennessee, Professor Larry McKay and his wife, Anna, have generously established the Larry McKay Graduate Award Endowment to support future graduate students.
McKay was the Jones Professor of Hydrogeology and was the associate dean of research and facilities in the College of Arts and Sciences when he retired.
He joined the UT faculty in 1993 as an assistant professor in geological sciences, and his research focused on groundwater contamination problems and stream/river floods.
McKay served as head of what was then the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences from 2009 to 2017 and received the UT National Alumni Association Outstanding Teacher Award in 2019. You can support graduate students by contributing to this new fund.
