Otto Kopp Summer Research Scholars (Summer 2020)

Otto Kopp Research Awards honor the memory of former EPS professor Otto Kopp and his dedication to undergraduate research. To promote on-campus engagement of EPS undergraduate students, applications are solicited to support 6 to 8 Kopp Summer Research Internships in the summer of 2020. Students selected as interns for the summer will be paid an hourly wage over the summer, for a total of up to $2000. This is a pilot effort and is not expected to be a recurring program.

Proposals for these internships are submitted by a student-advisor team and must include the following:

• Proposed Research –description of the proposed work with relevant details, single spaced, one-half to one page in length
• Unofficial transcripts
• Statement of commitment from the advisor
• Supplementary budget (up to $250) for analyses, equipment, or field support.
  

All materials should be e-mailed in a single packet to the Chair of the DF, Bradley Thomson (bthom@utk.edu) by 5 pm on January 31, 2020. At the conclusion of the summer, the student-advisor team is required to submit a 1-page, single-spaced summary of research accomplished, to be submitted via email to the Chair of the DF.
