Damani A. Driver

I received my B.S. in Geology from the University of Tennessee in 2015. During my time at UT, I completed two undergraduate research courses including one in Microbial Ecology and Environmental Engineering with Dr. Terry Hazen, and one in Quaternary Paleoclimatology with Dr. Sally Horn in the Geography department where I also completed several courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I spent my summers working for the United States Geological Survey in Nashville, TN supporting various hydrologic studies.

In 2018 I received my M.S. in Geoscience from the University of North Carolina Wilmington where. I specialized in seismology under the guidance of Dr. Scott Nooner. The purpose of this study was to explore increasing the coverage of the national seismic monitoring network in the coastal plain by investigating new viable locations for seismometer deployment. This project comprised the design and construction of field equipment, long term seismic data collection, data engineering, and algorithm development.

Today, I reside in Washington DC as a Software Engineer and Release Manager at Maxar Technologies. My team develops Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) applications using Machine Learning and bespoke algorithms to produce fast analyses of large volumes of spatiotemporal data in real time for US Department of Defense and Intelligence Community clients.

In my free time I enjoy spending time abroad, reading about history, and collecting puzzles.
